Fremragende 5 /5Outstanding location, set among tranquil olive groves with views across the Tuscan hills, and within easy striking distance of Florence, Sienna and Pisa. The owners grow figs, grapes, plums, lemons and delicious tomatoes, and make their own olive oil. Signora has a perfectionist's eye for detail, as shown in the spacious house, which is furnished with antiques. The house and pool are kept spotlessly clean, and she offers much helpful advice about local attractions and facilities, including a great tip about parking in Florence. The nearby town of Montespertoli has all the shops you need, plus restaurants, bars and a wine shop (opposite the supermarket) where you can get your bottles refilled from a huge vat. We bought amazingly fresh and tasty seasonal produce from the green market (Tuesday) and the Farmer's market (Saturday).
