Wir (4 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) haben uns in unserem 2 wöchigen Urlaub sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Haus bietet alles, was man benötigt. Das Haus mit all seinen Zimmern (Schlafzimmer, Wohnzimmer, Küche und auch die Bäder) ist großzügig gestaltet und bieten jeglichen Komfort. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt (großer Kühlschrank, Geschirrspülermaschine, Toaster, Wasserkocher, etc.). In der Waschküche gibt es ein Waschmaschine und ausreichend Platz um seine nassen Wäsche, Handtücher, etc. zu trockenen.
Der Außenbereich ist sehr schön gestaltet und bietet genügend Rückzugsmöglichkeiten und je nach Wunsch ausreichend Sonnen- oder Schattenplätze. Der Pool und der umliegende Bereich sind ebenfalls sehr großzügig gestaltet. Der Pool ist durch seine römische Treppe sehr vorteilhaft beim Betreten des Pools und die Kinder konnten auf der Treppe spielen. Besonders von Vorteil war der Bodenbelag des Poolbereichs aus Marmor, selbst bei hohen Temperaturen war der Boden immer angenehm begehbar.
Der Ausblick ist bei jeder Uhrzeit und von jedem Ort des Hauses empfehlenswert. Entweder schaut man in die Olivenbäume der Vermieter oder in die umliegende Berge mit all ihren Olivenbäumen, Weinreben oder der toskanischen Bewaldung. Der Blick ins Tal bietet einen atemberaubenden Weitblick.
Die Vermieter waren super!! Sie waren immer sehr besorgt um uns und stand uns mit Rat und Tat jederzeit zur Verfügung. Sie hat uns mit allen Informationen versorgt (alle Informationen rund ums Haus, Reise- und Ausflugstipps, Einkaufstipps, etc.) und er hat sich um das Grundstück und um die perfekte Reinigung des Pools gekümmert. Die Vermieter haben aber immer darauf geachtet, nicht sichtbar zu sein und haben immer unsere Privatsphäre beachtet. Er z.B. hat den Pool erst spät am Abend oder morgens sehr früh gereinigt, sodass wir an jedem Morgen einen perfekten Pool vorgefunden haben. Die Bilder und die Beschreibung auf der Webseite stimmen mit dem Eindruck vor Ort übereinander!
Wir waren sehr begeistert!!

We had the best time staying at Castello di Montegufoni. The Galleria apartment was exactly what we were looking for when we were planning our group stay in an Italian castle. Stores and other restaurants were really close, so that was super helpful so we could stock our apartment with food and supplies. Highly recommended - we hope to come back someday!

We are a family of five. We stayed for six nights in il cardinalle (room 24). It was the worst experience of our one-month trip in Spain and Italy. It was a hot week for sure and the mosquitoes were probably more abundant than usual. But taking that out of the equation the place is not good. Very expensive for very little.

We paid almost 1800 euros (300 euros a night) for a place with bed bugs, hot as an oven, and very little light. No cleaning at all. They only clean when people leave. And the bathrooms were dirty when we got there. They don't even give you soap or trash bags to last your entire stay. Six days requires more than one trash bag. Forget about changing sheets and towels. Nothing.

The restaurant is expensive but in a nice setting. There are few tables around the property but they are always occupied. So you can't even sit out at night.

I cooked light breaksfast and dinners on most days. I had to use my iphone light and a small flashlight from my home because the kitchen area is very dark. I asked the office four times to replace the bulbs that were broken in the few light fixtures around the place. They told me they would take care of it but I gave up after the 4th request.

The tiny refrigerator did not work properly. I didn't even ask to have it fixed. There was no hope it would.

I took pictures of the bed bug bites we all got for evidence. Really bad. We suffered. We actually saw them crawling on our bed. We do recognize bed bugs. You can try yourself doing a bed bug lineup - see https://www.nytimes.com/topic/subject/bedbugs

We are sure some of the bites we all have are from bed bugs. This means all the beds have bed bugs.

The idea that one would stay in a "castle" is cool. It also has a pool. It sounded good. That notion though comes with the realization that things would be rustic, not a hotel-type thing. You have to adjust. We expected that. But this place is beyond rustic and VERY expensive for what you get. There are basic things such a lighting, clean mattresses, clean bathroom, working appliances, etc. that are expected at a relatively decent place. This place does not meet basic comfort for what they charge. Better stay at a hostel.

The staff was nice. It is the fault of the oweners and management that this place is of lower standard.

The staff tried hard to listen and they did give us an extra fan when we told them one was not working in one of the rooms. That helped. But not enough to get a better rating.

The area is cute and the grounds are probably beautiful during other times of the year. Visiting without staying is probably the best bet unless the owners/management makes major changes.

[counter comments from the owners] We offer apartments, not hotel rooms and therefore during the stay our guests have to provide for cleaning and cleaning items themselves. Extra cleaning can be organized against supplement payment though. Sheets and towels are changed once a week. In case our guests need more towels or sheets it's possible to get them against supplement payment.
Regarding the tables and seats around the property, we will try to improve !
Regarding the light in the apartment, we will definitely take a look at that and fix. No other guests before or after you have complained about the fridge so may be the temperature had been turned down or up in the wrong way. We will of course check.
We are truely sorry but no other guest has ever complained about bed bugs in our property.
In general, we try not to distort the style of the castle by making too significant changes, but we will try to fulfill our shortcomings.
When you booked you knew that there was no air conditioning in the apartment, this summer was exceptionally hot and we could not do anything but provide fans.
Surely outside of the top season, the stay at the Castle is better because of the lower temperatures and because there are less people around. We do thank you however for your valauble comments.

Das Haus ist sehr schön eingerichtet und enthält alle wichtigen Dinge, die man im Urlaub so braucht. Die Küche ist super und die Sanitäranlagen sind im einwandfreien Zustand. Große Freude bereitete uns der Pool und der große Garten. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Das Haus die Umgebung und der Pool ist wunderschön gelegen. Mit der Sauberkeit im Hause könnte es in einzelnen Zimmer noch etwas besser sein. Schön wäre es, wenn noch ein Außengrill vorhanden wäre.
Der Empfang und die Informationen waren sehr gut.
Wir sind sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder einmal ins Casa Giuliano.

The pool has roman steps, very beneficial when entering the pool and the children could play on the stairs. Particularly advantageous was the floor covering of the pool area made of marble, even at high temperatures, the floor was always pleasant to walk on.

The view is recommended at any time and from any place of the house. Either you look on the olive trees of the landlords or in the surrounding mountains with all their olive trees, grape vines or the Tuscan forest. The view of the valley offers a breathtaking view.

The landlords were great !! They were always very worried about us and was available to us with help and advice at any time. She has provided us with all the information (all information about the house, travel and excursion tips, shopping tips, etc.) and he has taken care of the property and the perfect cleaning of the pool. The landlords have always taken care not to be visible and have always observed our privacy. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr schön, sauber und ordentlich ausgestattet. Der Pool ist super und man hat wirklich Ruhe und Erholung. Es ist nicht ganz billig, aber man bekommt auch etwas Ordentliches dafür. Lediglich die Endreinigungskosten finde ich etwas hoch.
