Villa Cantagallo has the old-world charm of an ancient manor house. The spacious rooms, fireplaces, arches and exposed stonework combine well with the rustic furnishings chosen by the owners, and will take you back in time when these huge dwellings were the hub of farmhouses.
You will find Villa Cantagallo a short distance from the charming Etruscan town of Cortona (8 km), a destination of great artistic, historical and architectural interest that is definitely worth a visit. You will leave your heart in Cortona, in its paved alleys that climb up the hill, you will immerse yourself in an almost magical atmosphere, as if suspended in time.
Don't forget to dine in one of the countless restaurants and trattorias in the historic centre; our advice is definitely local red wine and a nice Tagliata of Chianina beef!
Until a few years ago the house was the heart of a large farm, then a recent and careful renovation, which the owners carried out with love and care to keep the old features of the villa unaltered, transformed it into a cosy holiday home.
Still next to the house you will find the wine cellar where the owner produces excellent wine (Vino DOC Cortona), which you can taste for free during your holiday.
All around the house you will have at your disposal a large green area equipped with gazebo, table and chairs for your outdoor dinners in company, barbecue, games for children and shaded parking spaces. From the village of Castiglion Fiorentino, with its shops and services, following the suggestive road that crosses the entire Val di Chio and climbs the wooded hills and represent the natural border between Tuscany and Umbria, you will arrive at a small cluster of houses set on the slopes of the hill and overlooking a beautiful wooded landscape. The last stretch of road, about 200 m, is unpaved and sloping. La Casa del Nonno is a small, old stone house that is part of this original rural settlement once inhabited by farming families. Here you will find guaranteed peace; lazy summer days by the pool and in the solarium enjoying the sun, without hearing any noise except those of nature.
A careful renovation has brought La Casa del Nonno back to life. Rustic style furniture, old beams on the ceilings, the old fireplace in the living room, give it a warm atmosphere reminiscent of times gone by, when the house and the open fire were the shelter of the farmers after a hard day's work.
The house will be your own little nest, well-finished, comfortable and cosy and will immediately give you the feeling of being welcome.
In front of the house there is an outdoor area arranged on natural terraces connected by steps, completely fenced and equipped with garden furniture, barbecue and a small house with laundry. Villa Cecilia is an old farmhouse dating back to before 1800. You will find it perched on a hill in the heart of the Valdichiana, about 4 km from Castiglion Fiorentino, a characteristic village where you will find shops, restaurants, supermarkets and all necessities.
The farmhouse has been recently and carefully restored under the careful guidance of the owners, who strongly wished to maintain its ancient origins and characteristics. The original terracotta tiled floors, the high ceilings with wooden beams, all coordinated with quality furnishings, with fine antiques, are a perfect match for the characteristics of the villa. You will feel a sense of warmth at the villa, you will feel welcomed and pampered, perfectly in harmony with your surroundings.
The history of the farmhouse is also fascinating. In ancient times, the Valdichiana was a swamp and before the land reclamation took place, its waters lapped the land of the property and just a few steps from the house there was a small harbour for boats that connected by water to the surrounding villages.
Today the villa is part of a farm that includes vineyards, cereal crops, farmyard animals and beautiful horses. About 1 km away, at the owners' residence, you will be able to enjoy the organic produce from their vegetable garden free of charge. Their paddocks, should you travel with your horses, will be at your disposal (service available for a fee).
Around the villa, you will enjoy a large, completely fenced green space perfect for your morning or evening walks even with your four-legged friends. Inside the park there is also a woodland path (approx. 500 m) where you can relax, walk and organise cool snacks.

If you book a holiday at Casale Aiola you will find yourself immersed in a modern farmhouse and forestry farm, surrounded by greenery and set in the total tranquillity of the hills on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, among age-old woods and picturesque valleys. Casale Aiola is an old stone farmhouse divided into two parts. In one part of the house lives the owner who, with his discreet presence, will be a sure reference point for any need.
The farmhouse is located about 25 km from the beautiful Cortona, in Tuscany and about 15 km from the village of Trestina, in Umbria. You can do your shopping in either Cortona or Trestina, both of which have shops, supermarkets and services.
From here you have easy access to green Umbria, with its small villages nestled in the lush hills and bucolic landscapes of Lake Trasimeno, Perugia is only 60 km away.
Similarly, once you have reached Cortona, the splendid towns and cities of southern Tuscany will open up for you to discover. From Cortona to the farmhouse the road is perhaps a little long, even though it is all paved. But once you are there you will be rewarded with the absolute tranquillity of the place.
In our opinion Casale Aiola is definitely suitable for groups of families with children. The large green space around the house is perfect for the little ones to run and play in the middle of nature. Also available, in front of the house, is a children's swimming pool (size m. 4x8 - depth 0.60 m., table tennis, table football, children's games and a bowling green. From the windows of the old farmhouse, you will enjoy an incomparable view of the suggestive landscape of the Valdichiana hills, where, scattered here and there, you will glimpse beautiful farmhouses, 19th-century villas and medieval villages dominated by mighty castles. An idyllic setting that will be nourishment for both your eyes and your mind.
Santa Vittoria is an old house with a special appeal. The wooden ceilings, the floors all in Tuscan terracotta and the original period furnishings give it a very rustic and characteristic charm. You will experience your stay in an atmosphere of old, simple and essential things.
On the ground floor of the farmhouse lives, occasionally, the property caretaker who will be a discreet point of reference in case of need.
