Monte del Lago is an old farmhouse in an extremely panoramic position, on the top of a hill covered with olive trees and overlooking Lake Trasimeno. The villa with its two sun terraces, the private swimming pool (size 5x12 m, depth 1,20-2,00 m - open from 01st May to 30th September) and the garden overlook the shores of the lake, and will give you a dream view every day...with silver waters, small and sleepy villages in the distance and boats gently cruising on the surface of the lake.
Monte del Lago is particularly suitable for lovers of water sports. On the well-equipped beaches just a few minutes' drive from the villa, as well as fully enjoying the warm summer sun, you can practice classic water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, absolute fun for everyone, adults and children alike.
In the large green area, shaded by age-old olive trees, there is a patio with a table tennis table for exciting challenges with family or friends.
On the two sides of the house, on the first floor level, the two large terraces overlooking Lake Trasimeno, in our opinion the best place for your outdoor lunches and dinners, for aperitifs in the evening in front of the sunset and to spend relaxing days in the lake breeze.
Even in the interiors, the owner, with antique furniture and local handicrafts has managed to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A holiday in Monte del Lago will remain in your heart!

FIRST FLOOR: access via a traditional external stone staircase with loggia, made up of a sitting room with fireplace, sofas and TV, kitchen/dining room, two bathrooms with shower one of which with washing machine. Double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and mezzanine with access to a typical panoramic terrace equipped with table, chairs and sun umbrella. Two double bedrooms and twin bedroom. From the kitchen and the sitting room access to a large terrace (60 sqm) partly covered and equipped with table, chairs, sitting area in wicker furniture, swing seat and barbecue.

You come for the location and forgive the inadequacies of the accommodation. But after two years here we won't be coming back. We'd hoped things might have improved this year, but sadly not. The facilities just aren't up to it. In the end they get you down. You simply don't expect to spend the first few days of you holiday asking for a list of basic items to be provided, or buying things yourself to equip the kitchen and bedrooms. Last year we described the place as having the charm of your granny's house. This year, from broken chairs and equipment, to torn bedsheets and bed bug ridden beds, the place felt neglected; as if granny had now moved out. It's such a shame because it's a lovely villa and it would take so little to make it better.
[Counter comment from the owner] For the next season 2024 the owner will surely make some improvements. Further the house will be rented for a maximum of 8 people to make the stay more comfortable.
A stunning location. An amazing view. A lovely pool. Isolated, yet close to amenities. This is a delightful, rustic, family villa. The key word is "rustic". As one of my daughters commented, it's a bit like staying at Granny's - charming but everything's a bit past its sell by date. We liked the aged simplicity but it might not be to everyone's taste, and trying to cook for more than 6 adults is a struggle. This is definitely not a villa for 12. The kitchen and cooker is just too small and while the kitchen is well stocked, not everything works as it should. The ground crew were great, replacing things promptly when asked and always with a smile. There's a campsite immediately below the villa on the lake, which in the summer has fairly regular parties. It didn't bother us particularly but just to be aware they did sometimes go on into the early hours. We'd go back because of the location, the convivial side terrace and pool, but we'd stick to 4/6 adults for most of the time.
