The property was excellent, with a great vibe and nice and remote for a true vacation experience. Stefano was a wonderful host. My only regret is that I didn't build in more time to spend on property relaxing. I will definitely be back!

Fabulous place to stay. Spectacular views and the apartments were spacious and fully equipped. Sergio and Stefano were excellent hosts. We ate at the restaurant, had pizza on their pizza night and did the cooking class all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.

une fois la peripetie passée du chemin 4/4 et du pneu crevé nous avons adoré notre sejour à la villa fabronni. Pergola etait spacieux propre ( mention speciale pour le linge de lit) et chaque salle de bains et wc fort confortables. un petit bémol pour cette region de gastronomie un manque de vaisselle et d 'ustensiles pour cuisine

Sergio and Stefano are the most charming and warm hosts at the most stunning villa high up in the hills. The pizza making class will be remembered forever as well as the happy time we spent driving the hills and relaxing on the terrace with our lovely Australian family.The villa was spacious and had everything you need. Close to the small village of San Polo with a few stores. The views are amazing and we even walked down to the church through the winding road and vineyards.

Villa Fabbroni e un posto meraviglioso imerso nel verde, e dal vivo e piu bello che nelle fotografie. Sergio e Stefano sono dei padroni di casa cordiali e molto simpatici. L appartamento il padronale e molto spazioso e comodo. Firenze, Siena e altre citta sono facilmente raggiungibili con la macchina. L anno prossimo spero di ritornarci in vacanza.

Sergio and Stefano are very friendly and very nice hosts. The apartment Il Padronale is very spacious and comfortable. Florence, Siena and other cities are easily accessible by car. The next year I hope to go back on vacation.

Our car broke down in Switzerland en route to the Villa Fabbroni with the end result we turned up, by taxi, at 2.30 a.m. having got lost trying to find our way firstly to San Pollo and then to the Villa. The instructions told us that we were to turn left at the church onto a non-asphalted road and after 500 m we would find the Villa. After 2 km of driving thus up the road our taxi driver thought it was a mistake and turned back to the church. Back at the church we were lucky enough to bump into a neighbour returning late from a party. It was the correct road– so back we went along the steep, hair-pin road and past all the shadowy olive trees growing along the side of the dusty track. When we finally saw the lights of the Villa we were very relieved. It felt like we had arrived at the end of the world.

Not quite the end of the world but when seen in day-light the Villa is set amongst the most stunning Tuscan country-side surrounded by thick, lush woods and olive groves. With it being so isolated it is little wonder that the Villa Fabbroni was the favoured hunting spot of Italy’s nobility and a place to bring a beautiful mistress. The views are quite spectacular and the setting peaceful and relaxing. Added to all of this is the wonderful hospitality of Sergio and Stefano who were most gracious about having to stay awake until the early hours of the morning to let a bedraggled family from Belgium in. Throughout our two week stay both Sergio and Stefano were more than helpful.

The restaurant attached to the Villa is every bit as good as other reviewers say it is. An authentic four-course meal over-looking the hills as the sun sets is definitely a wonderful holiday experience. The apartments were spacious and comfortable. The Villa is also very well located in terms of day-trips to Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano and Moterregione. In spite of the rather unfortunate start to our holiday we had a wonderful break and can highly recommend a stay there.

We hired all 7 villas for my 50th birthday. As most guests were coming from Australia I wanted to make sure all went well. I needn’t have worried. From the moment I found Possarelli villa’s website they were great. Answered all my questions and gave me lots of options. They listened to my needs and found a great venue.
If I thought the people from Possarelli were great then Stefano and Sergio were amazing. They fully catered for my birthday, Feed us the night we arrived, offered advice on what do see and do. Arranged a great wine tasting at a local winery, including food, for us all at a moment’s notice. Sergio also gave a great talk on the history of the castle. Those who wanted to did a cooking lesson with the Master Chef Sergio. My 12 year old nephew was shaking with adrenaline afterwards explaining all he had learned. Finally, the local town had a great little pub/restaurant in it that we took over on the final night.
So in summary if you want to go to a place where the owners have a passion for great food, great service and go out of their way to make sure you take away the memory of a lifetime go to Fattoria San Polo

I wish there was a rating even higher than excellent to give! Villa Fabroni was beautiful, the owners were the best, and the countryside was spectacular. If you go, be sure to schedule some dinners at the castle itself. The owner is a great cook and even gives cooking lessons! The cooking lesson was the highlight of our trip and the best food we had. You can also make day trips to Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano, Lucca and Cinque Terre. Te furthest is only a 3 hour drive away!

If you are searching for a place to stay, stop. Villa Fabbroni is a wonderful place to stay and Sergio and Steffano are wonderful hosts. This is our favorite place to stay in Italy and we will stay there again. The accommodations were great, the view was beautiful and the food and cooking class is excellent. I stayed with 6 members of my family in the Il Padronale flat. It was very large and spacious, the 7 of us never felt crowded, actually a few of us got lost inside! The beds were large and comfortable and so were all but one of the 4 bathrooms. Sergio and Stefano made us a lovely dinner the night we arrived, even though we got horribly lost and arrived later then planned. The food was amazing and our hosts were not invasive, we waved every morning on our way out and the second morning Stefano brought us bread and milk, we purchased, from the local market. That was nice as the closest one is 10 miles away. We loved the remote, quiet and beautiful location but I will say finding it was not easy at all. We had several maps and a GPS unit and still, every night it took us at least 2 hours to find it and we never found the same way back, which was frustrating. Very few signs indicating San Polo was another frustration. I'm sure not everyone will have such navigation problems and it is no reflection on the lovely stay we had. We looked at our rides back to the Villa as part of our Tuscan adventure and we found many charming towns through out Chianti while lost! The grounds of the Villa were beautiful with flowers, trees, grass and olive groves. You have to purchase their amazing olive oil at the Villa, I have never seen it so green and tasty! I would recommend the Villa and I would stay again myself, especially now that I know the mountain roads. I would also advise new travelers that the paved road ends onto a dirt road so take that into consideration when renting your car.

This was an amazing place to stay in the heart of the Chianti region! The grounds are amazing, well maintained, and steeped with character. Our apartment was very spacious and beautifully decorated for the unique ‘Italian Castle’ feel. The views are beautiful from the top of this little mountain, particularly from the pool! We were a group of cyclists and the last few kilometers of the road are gravel, so be prepared to start your morning at the wonderful coffee bar at the bottom of the hill. Also, in town are a grocery store, butcher, and restaurant. Nearby towns host wineries, restaurants, and shopping. However, our stay was particularly spectacular because of our hosts Stefano and Sergio. They were super accommodating and offer bonus features such as daily bread delivery. The Villa Fabbroni also produces its own delicious wine and olive oil. The ‘pièce de résistance’ was the restaurant. The ambience is amazing (arched brick ceilings and stone walls) but the food was incredible. It is all homemade by Stefano, Sergio and their staff. The restaurant is only open on weekends but we loved their food so much we made a special request for additional meals (you can do this if you have 10+). Foodies be warned, these were some of our best meals during our entire stay in Italy. Highly recommended! Thank you!

Stayed extra nights as it's such a special place. Beautiful building, enchanting landscape and fabulous hosts.

Next time we visit we may consider a 4x4 as the access road is a challenge for a low suspension car.

This is the real deal, if you're looking for a Tuscan getaway. The property is well-maintained, and apartments are spacious and well equipped. Hosts / Chefs Sergio and Stephano are gracious and friendly in addition to providing splendid breakfasts and dinners (or you can cook / eat in your apartment, which we did several evenings).
The units are arranged so that guests have privacy, and all the units seem to have excellent views as well.
The beds (where, let's face it, you spend 1/3 of your time) are comfortable, and there's ample storage space for clothing.
We were unlucky, weather-wise: a rare North African heat wave shrouded Italy from Rome to Bologna while we were there. Luckily there is a very nice pool at Villa Fabbroni with shade umbrellas and comfortable pool-side seating. Few of the guests used it, (they braved the heat to visit regional wineries and museums) but our group found it to be a saving grace.
It's a bit of a trek to the markets (there is a great coop about 7 km away) but the owners will provide daily necessities like fresh bread at cost, since they make a daily trip to the market... nice.
The history of the villa is rich, but what really sets it apart is the affability of the hosts. I'm hoping to get Stephano's recipe for Limoncello (which they treated us to on our last evening at the villa). In addition they produce their own wine, honey and olive oil. You can't get more authentic than that!

We stayed in Loggia for ten days in mid-March and were delighted with the property, the food, the cooking class and especially the warmth and support of the two hosts. They advised us on sightseeing options, supplied internet support, brought us fresh bread every morning and firewood every evening. Their availability, resourcefulness and graciousness transcended any that we have experienced in other lodgings.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at Villa Fabbroni. We rented the Loggia and we had so much space for the 5 of us. All the rooms were very large including the bathrooms. We loved the antique furniture as well . Every evening we enjoyed a beautiful fire with the antique fireplace.
Sergio and Stefano were great hosts not forgetting about their great doggie Oscar.Sergio is a great cook preparing a beautiful meal on the Sat. evening with little notice.
The two negatives are the property is quite remote at the end of a bumpy hilly road and get specific directions to the Villa . It is a little hard to find initially. However with the GPS there shouldn't be any problem . The location is really only about 30 minutes from Florence so we drove into Florence three times in the week.A beautiful setting indeed.R. Il Pergolo apartment of Villa Fabbroni was fantastic for our group of 7 people (2 of which were young children) plus a dog! We loved its beautiful, rural location off the beaten path at the top of a hill. We loved the authentic yet comfortable feel of the restored villa. Each of the 4 bedrooms even had its own bathroom, which was great for getting us all out early enough to tour around (we went to Pisa/Lucca, Greve in Chianti, and Sienna). We dined at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and Sergio's cooking was delicious! We even had the Tues night pizza in the apartment, which was great and relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We saw other guests having a cooking class with Sergio and wish we'd had time to do that too...maybe next time! Stefano was very helpful providing maps and info for touring the area. It was also helpful that Sergio and Stefano both spoke fluent English, too! Our vacation was even better than we had hoped for, we hope to return. Don't miss trying the wine, olive oil and honey they produce on site.

Our stay at Villa Fabbroni was one of the best vacations ever taken! The apartments are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is run by one of Tuscany's best chefs (Sergio) and the food is made with love, from fresh local ingredients. The grounds are very nice with plenty of solitude. Hiking trails abound. The hosts, Stefano and Sergio are some of the nicest and most accommodating innkeepers we've ever encountered. We highly recommend the Tuscan cooking class with Sergio and Stefano; it is not to be missed!

This is a lovely character villa in a beautiful Tuscan spot. The owners of the villa (Sergio and Stefano) are delightful and really contributed to our stay there with their local knowledge of the are, their fantastic Tuscan cooking and their warm welcome - knowing that if you need any help/advice they are always there. You do need a car if you are staying there but it is a super base to explore Florence, Siena and local towns such as San Gimignano. There are also lots of local markets and wine tasting venues to visit in this picturesque part of Italy. If staying here do book a table for the restaurant that is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and be sure to order a pizza on Tuesday evening that Stefano will bring to your villa. You can also wash the food down with Villa Fabbroni wine at only 5 euros a bottle! Sergio and Stefano have struck the perfect balance between being there if you need them and yet letting you experience an independent holiday. Their dog Oscar is also a real character - so take time time to give him a pat...can't wait to see him again!

We had a wonderful time in La Loggia at Villa Fabbroni. You must eat in the restaurant - amazing food served by Stefano and Sergio who were excellent hosts throughout the week, and always ready to give helpful advice. The villa is high in the hills and a great base from which to explore Tuscany with easy access to Florence and a comfortable drive to Sienna. It was very safe and our teenage children enjoyed staying at the villa and the pool by themselves on some of the days that we spent visiting local markets and towns. The stay at villa Fabbroni was superb! We enjoyed the wonderful view, the great convenience of the apartment we stayed in, and most of all the great hospitality of the owners. On top of all we enjoyed greatly the wonderful meals at the villa's restaurant. Very recommended. Hope we'll have an opportunity to stay at this villa again.

A group of us - 8 friends - rented Il Padronale. The appartment was even better than the photos on the website. The owners were extremelly helpful, providing bread in the morning and their own wine whenever we requested it. It is beautifully silent and quite magical. From 3 of the group who had a cookery class, it is very well recommended. We are already planning our return visit!

We would like to thank Vills Fabbroni for a lovely stay. We were two families and booked Il Padronale which was fantastic, enough room for everyone and nicely decorated. Great for kids.
The owners were very heplpful and friendly.
We ate twice at their restaurant. First night was really good and great value for money, second night was virtualy the same menu, still just as good but it would of been nice to try something different. The property is a bit off the beaten track, but worth the drive if your wanting somewhere to relax and unwind after visiting Tuscany.

A magical place .. I celebrated my 60th with some friends and it was perfect - I even became quite attached to the narrow winding drive up the mountain from San Polo. Villa Fabbroni is delightedly different .. overlooks mountains and forests although just a little down the track are those Tuscan views one imagines .. olive groves, vineyards and dotted villas here and there. Other guests had children who loved the horses, chickens and rustic atmosphere. Stefano and Sergio make you very welcome, are helpful and are one of the special things about Fabbroni .. we ate their olive oil, and honey and drank their wine .. and ejoyed their sumptuious cooking. Of course a car is necessary in Tuscany and many Tuscan villages are within a day's visit after which a relax by the pool is very welcome!..the furnishings are rustic/provincial, comfortable, clean and well appointed.... we did not want to leave! What a wonderful week spent with friends who booked two of the other appartments in the Villa. The Villa is tucked away on the side of a hill in Northeastern Tuscany. The appartments where clean and bright and beautifully and comfortably decorated. Stefano and Sergio were superb hosts. We dined there twice and the food was delicious, creative and inexpensive.

Had a great stay in the "Il Pergolo" appartment. We were very impressed with the standard of the appartment. Really enjoyed eating in the restaurant and the homemade pizzas delivered once per week to our room. My wife also enjoyed the cookery course one morning, and it was great that we could all sample the food at lunchtime. Owners are very friendly and go out of their way to help (e.g. delivering fresh bread from the local shop each morning). Only slight downside when we stayed were the number of annoying horse flies by the pool - not that the owners could do anything about this. Overall, would recommend the Villa Fabbroni and we shall definitely go back one day.

We have just come back from Villa Fabbroni and had a fabulous time. We stayed in La Loggia which was perfect for the six of us, lots of space and superbly well-equipped. Sergio and Steffano have made the Villa beautiful and were the perfect hosts. We especially enjoyed the nights we ate in the restaurant and reccommend it highly. My children enjoyed making friends with the other children there and are still talking about Raoul! It's the perfect location for visiting Florence and the surrounding Chianti countryside. My only reservation would be that the drive there could be quite scary if you are not the most confident driver, but well worth it in the end.

We had a lovely week at La Fattoria, Villa Fabbroni in June 2010. The location of the villa is fabulous for those wishing to get away from it all, relax and enjoy the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Hiring a car is absolutely essential to make the most of your stay - with major cities (Florence, Siena) and smaller towns/villages of the Chianti region within easy reach for day trips.

Villa Fabbroni is rustically renovated and enjoys stunning views over the rolling hills of Tuscany. The owners are very thoughtful, knowledgeable, accommodating and welcoming - making your stay memorable and relaxing.

This Villa is a must the food the owners were all amazing. My husband and I took cooking classes. We are actually making fresh pasta this weekend thanks to the chefs from the Villa. Wonderful week there. Again the food every night was amazing. (I ate Vegetarian) EVery night something spectular was on our plate.

All I can say is what a wonderful place! Sergio and Stefano were excellent hosts in every way. The villa is absolutely stunning and the views truly take the stress of everyday life away. this worked very well and the location is so close to florence and siena that days out are easy you are only twenty minutes drive from the centre of florence and fourty minutes drive from siena

We were all extremely pleased with Villa Fabbroni and our stay there.
Stephano was wonderfully helpful, keeping our wine jugs filled, making two beautiful, delicious large pizzas for Tuesday night dinner, and arranging a fabulous birthday dinner for fourteen of us on Friday night. We enjoyed the beautiful Tuscan scenery, visited wineries and explored hill towns during the day; had social time in the lovely large living room and cooked Tuscan meals in the more than adequate kitchen at night. A perfect holiday.

The Villa Fabbroni exceeded all of our expectations. Stefano and Sergio are fabulous hosts and chefs--the food we enjoyed in the wonderfully warm and inviting restaurant there was the best we had in all of Italy--and everything about the place (the hosts, the accommodations, the setting, the view, fellow guests, and more) was exceptional. We stayed in the Padronale unit, which is enormous and wonderfully outfitted with impressive antiques and every modern amenity one could ask for. I can't say enough about the hospitality of Stefano and Sergio, who are so welcoming and accommodating, particularly to families with young children (ours are 6 and 3). Villa Fabbroni was absolutely wonderful. We rented the apartment La Fattoria in late May, and despite the fact there was no air conditioner, we were very comfortable. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were incredibly well-kept, and the hosts were better than you could ever ask for! They really made the stay very enjoyable. Their dog Raul also added to the enjoyment of the stay--what a great pet! The villa is well-situated, not far from the SS222 (Chianti Road), and is a hop skip and jump away from many vineyards to tour. The road to the villa is a bit nerve-wracking, but you get used to the drive after a day or two. What an enjoyable experience! If we have the opportunity, we will definitely be staying at La Fattoria again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Villa Fabbroni! The property is beautiful and Stefano and Sergio were so warm, welcoming and helpful. It could not have been a better stay and we highly recommend this property. The only thing we would share is that you are a bit of a drive from other towns and sights. If you are prepared for that - and have an opportunity to enjoy just staying "home" to enjoyo the villa - you will be very happy. Oh - we must say that the best meal we had in Italy was our dinner at Villa Fabbroni!

From the second our tires touched the gravel road heading up to the villa we were enamoured. The surroundings were lovely, and the villa itself was beautiful. We were greeted by Stefano, who is very warm and helpful. We had a very relaxing week in the Tuscan sun and we had WONDERFUL food at the on-property restaurant. This villa is far away enough from everything to give you a truly relaxed feeling, but also close enough to Florence, Sienna, etc. to make day trips possible. Would definitely recommend this villa to friends and family.

The villa is stunning. The views are spectacular. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. We were impressed. The pictures online do not do the reality of the villa justice. The bathrooms were large and the showers were very accomodating. My husband is 6'8 and he had no problems using the shower. The water and water pressure on the showers was great and we never ran out of hot water. We took advantage of the bus stop in Grassina to travel into Florence - highly recommended! The cooking class at the villa is excellent and was greatly enjoyed. We also went on a winery tour that is also highly recommended. If time permits, travel on 222 down to Siena. It is a great ride with lots of beautiful scenery and many quaint towns (Greve, Gretti). Siena is something that should not be missed - it is a walled midevil city that is a must see.

What can I say about Sergio and Stephano?? To say they are the absolute best hosts you would wish and hope for is an understatement! We rented the entire villa and had our wedding there. It was the greatest time of our lives and all who attended agree we were treated like royalty. We came based on a leap of faith and departed with a lifetime of memories and life long friends.

WOW! Beyond a shadow of a doubt Sergio and Stephano and Villa Fabbroni were the absolute highlights of our amazing trip to Italy. Hosts with hearts of gold, they went above and beyond the gold standard to assist us in all of our local travel plans as well as emergency assistance when our car broke down. Thank you so much for the amazing vacation and the best food in all of Italy. We highly recommend their weekend restaurant. The Bruschetta alone is worth the trip. We had a wonderful week at Villa Fabbroni. It was lovely and the pool was very cool looking over the mountains in between olive trees. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. We absolutely LOVED our stay at Villa Fabbroni! Besides the charm and beauty of the physical surroundings, the hosts (Sergio and Stefano) were warm, helpful, and always available. The delicious and authentic cuisine created in the restaurant was the best we encountered in all of Tuscany! The location also makes it perfect for exploring both the Chianti countryside as well as lovely Florence. This was a wonderful find ! Website reservations are always a little questionable until the reality appears,but I can't imagine a better value than "Il Padronale",from any source.
Large,antique-furnished rooms,working fireplace,spectacular views,wonderful location,and,most importantly,our hosts,Stefano and Sergio,who couldn't have been more welcoming,helpful,and accommodating.Highest recommendation!
