Podere I Gigli is a farmhouse just a few steps away from the centre of Castiglion Fiorentino, which you can easily reach on foot in less than 10 minutes when you want to stretch your legs. The railway station, which is 500 metres from the property, is also within easy reach and makes the house particularly suitable for all types of travel should you wish to visit Tuscany and Central Italy without taking a car.
The farm mainly produces cereals, but around the house you can also enjoy the view of vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees. The owners will be happy to let you taste and buy their pure Sangiovese wine, extra virgin olive oil and other products of the farm, proudly handed down from father to daughter.
The house is surrounded by a large, well-kept garden, shaded and filled with flowers and plants. In the relaxation area, furnished with table and chairs, you can comfortably enjoy your meals in the open air. At the back of the house, in a sunny position, there is a swimming pool measuring 4.5x9m, 1.50m deep and completely fenced ( open from 16 May to 30 September) for the safety of your children.
Another corner that we think you will appreciate is the sun terrace on the first floor, where you will find a small lounge with a sun umbrella, table and chairs, ideal for aperitifs in the cool of summer evenings.
There is also a vegetable garden with fresh seasonal vegetables that you can pick daily.
Podere I Gigli is an old stone farmhouse, dating back to the early 1900s, which has recently been renovated and brought back to life while maintaining the structure, which still exudes ancient history and farming traditions. The grit floors and exposed beams have been preserved and together with the rustic furnishings and antiques and local crafts, personally and carefully chosen by the owner, make the house a truly ideal place for your holidays.
The owners who live next door, although discreet, will be a sure reference point for any need you may have.

For reservationer i sidste øjeblik (indenfor 45 dage før ankomst) skal det fulde lejebeløb betales på tidspunktet for reservationen.
I tilfælde af afbestilling af reservationen, selvom den erstattes af en anden, gælder følgende sanktioner:
- det indledende depositum (25% af den samlede leje), hvis afbestillingen foretages mellem bookingtidspunktet og op til 46 dage inden ankomst;
- 100% af den samlede lejepris, hvis afbestillingen foretages fra 45 dage til ankomstdagen eller i tilfælde af ”no show”.

We had an excellent 2 weeks in this beautiful house. The photos don’t do it justice. Our host Sabrina and her family live next door. She was lovely and helpful with anything we needed or asked. She cleans the pool and outside area every morning and evening. It’s kept beautiful. But they don’t impose at all. There are many restaurants within 10–15 min walk. Up a huge hill. We certainly got our exercise in before dinner. La Piano is good for something fancy and different. Il Gallo Nero was amazing for pasta dishes. It was the best pasta we’d ever eaten and was only €10 a bowl. We had 5 main courses, 3 desserts and 2 bottles of wine and it was under €100! Unbelievable value. Da Muzzicone was lovely too. We had amazing ribeye steak. There were 3 good supermarkets within a few minutes drive. Train station is nearby so you can travel further. We took a train to Florence for the day which was lovely. We also drove to Cortona, Pienza and Montepulciano. All lovely places to see. Beautiful scenery everywhere you go. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und liebevoll dekoriert, die Bäder sind neu und haben eine gute Größe. Alles war sehr sauber, auch der Pool, der jeden Tag gereinigt wurde. Das Haus liegt an einer Straße, die aber wenig befahren ist und auch die Eisenbahnlinie in der Nähe hat uns nicht gestört, im Gegenteil, wir fanden es super, dass wir in 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Bahnhof laufen konnten, von wo es viele Verbindungen gibt. Auch in die Altstadt kommt man gut zu Fuß. Mehrere Supermärkte in der Nähe bieten alles, was man braucht, um in der gut sortierten Küche zu kochen.
Sabrina und ihre Mutter haben uns persönlich begrüßt und uns ihr schönes Haus erklärt. Lecker sind auch der Wein und das Öl, das die Familie, die nebenan wohnt, zu einem günstigen Preis anbietet.
Wenn wir etwas zu bemängeln hätten, dann wäre es die Tatsache, dass es besonders am Pool zu wenig Schatten gibt und die Möbel auf dem eigentlich schönen Balkon wenig bequem sind und somit nicht zum längeren Sitzen einladen.

Grazie Sabrina for taking such great care of us! The villa, pool, and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and spacious. We were 6 people and had plenty of private space.

Superb accommodation in a marvellous part of Tuscany. Castiglione is a hidden gem with so much going on. Only negative was quality of wi fi, but we survived!

Lovely place to stay with friendly, very hospitable owners ( thank you for everything,Sabrini and family). Walking distance to train station and town ( uphill, but not far). Delicious wine available direct from the farm - a large jug was waiting for us on arrival! One of the nicest things was having a large terrace at the rear, ideal for the evening watching the sunset. Belle prestation pouvant passer à super prestation avec un peu d'amélioration
Maison agréable et situation très intéressante pour sillonner le Sud Toscane.
Accueil très chaleureux et propriétaire à l'écoute.
Électroménager ; un peu juste (cafetière, grille pain), nécessiterait une remise à niveau quantitative et qualitative,
manque de couvert (nombre très limité : 6 cuillères et 6 couteaux pour 6 personnes !!)
Ligne de chemin de fer à proximité créant quelques nuisances d'autant plus que l'isolation (phonique et thermique) des fenêtres des chambres apparait insuffisante.

wonderful villa! very spacious and well equipped. 5 min walk to the town And railway station (didn't hear the trains once) direct to Florence and Rome.
Town has loads of restaurants, bars and 4 supermarkets to choose from.
Villa was spotless, as were the pool and gardens. owner and family were amazing, very welcoming and friendly - went our their way to settle us in, but not intrusive. we are booking again next year as also a great base for exploring sienna and surrounding towns and cities.
